George Stanley McGovern (July 19, 1922 – October 21, 2012) was an American politician, historian, U.S. representative, U.S. senator, and the Democratic Party presidential nominee in the 1972 presidential election. Dr. Charles James Nabors, Jr. (1934-1986) was hired as a research assistant in the Department of Anatomy in 1956 and became the University of Utah's first African American faculty member in 1958.
